|
|
| Dear Friend of Little Pearls, |
Long time no e-newsletter! Those of you who are not on
Facebook or otherwise in contact haven't heard anything in
months. Did you miss us?
This has been a busy, productive time, with two new Dog
Pearls and more in the works, multiple new online social
networking
sites
for Little Pearls (Web 2.0) and many irons
in
the fire.
This newsletter is packed FULL!
Future updates will be short for awhile. I will have complex hand
surgery July 1, so keep this e-mail
for easy access
to all the links.
Enjoy catching up, and Happy Summer!

| New Dog Pearls: Coming Home & Spirit Dog |
We are now creating a series of four related
Dog Pearls Dog Pearls.
The first two are
completed. Coming Home was released
a few weeks ago and Spirit Dog is just now out. Both
of these
are poignant, comforting and spiritual, dealing with living -
and dying - with ease, love
and grace.
Each Pearl is a minute of dreamy, slow motion beauty.
Please choose HD or HQ options to see how truly beautiful they are.
The first Dog Pearl is Coming Home Coming Home, starring all five of our
mountaintop "shoot" dogs, including sweet old Mitch.
And here is Spirit Dog Spirit Dog - you might want
to have a tissue
handy.
We had not planned this Pearl until Tucker, our
beautiful white shepherd
Dog Star, died last November.
On June 19, 2008, we filmed five dogs playing
on top
of a bald in the Blue Ridge Mountains for the first planned Pearl.
We also filmed 12 year
old Mitch and puppy Gracie for what we
thought
would be the second Pearl. It was a gloriously sunny,
breezy day!
Our mountaintop Dog Stars had a great time, playing and
running free on such a stunning
day, but even energetic "talent"
has to rest,
too....
These first spiritual Dog Pearls were funded
with support
from the Blessings Project Foundation
Blessings Project Foundation - and
also from some of you! |
| Next Up: Two More Dog Pearls! |
The next two in this related set of Dog Pearls will be more
playful, even funny, with working
titles:
My New Best Friend: After losing his best
friend Katie,
our collie mix Mitch learns to love
again with Gracie,
even though she is twelve
years younger. She turned him into a pup again!

So Many Dogs, So Little Time: Instead of resisting the fact
that dogs, cats and other companion animals have shorter lives
than we do, our Dog Stars want us to embrace the opportunity
we humans have to love many
animals.
They want us to keep
loving and being loved, bringing new love into our lives when
they can no longer stay with us.

We just needed footage of a few more dogs
for this fourth Pearl.
With an abundance of willing and wonderful Dog Stars, we ended up filming 22 more dogs, plus some extra dog park pups, all in HD!
Click on Our Dog Stars for a page chock full of
profiles of all our dogs,
with lots of photos and
bios in first person - well, really, first dog!
|
| Dog Stars +Your Do(g)nations = LOTS More Dog Pearls! |
So... we have many great dogs, all captured already in high-quality
footage, waiting to
become Dog Stars in new Pearls. That's where
YOU come in!
We need funding now to create the next two Pearls, and after that,
a whole series related to adoptions and the benefits of bringing animals
into our lives. Please help us with a playful Do(g)nation - woof!!!
Little Pearls as an organization is not about
direct services.
We know we cannot compete for funds appropriately given to meet basic needs,
for humans or for animals, and we know
that the economy is rough now.
Our "tiny films" are about HEART. Our goal
for the Dog Pearls
is to inspire deeper connection and compassionate action on behalf
of dogs,
cats and all companion animals - and people - everywhere.
With enough funding,
we can create more Dog Pearls, all of which
will directly encourage adoptions and/or will
offer lessons we humans
can learn from our dog teachers.
All animal welfare
organizations everywhere
can freely use these
Pearls
in their own fundraising
and educational programs.
We have created
a photo-rich Do(g)nations page, so people and their dogs can have
fun
supporting this work. We have nine
giving levels and links for a new page
at each level.
YOU - and/or your dog, organization or business - can be listed on
a linked page, with your own photos, message and links.
Details are on the Do(g)nations page.
Weazie sez: Come
on, come on, please hurry & make your do(g)nation!
Make me and ALL of us good dogs STARS!!!!!

| Coming Pearls |
You can help Little Pearls to enrich
your life and the lives of those you
love by supporting us.
Please help us to:
* Create at least the initial set of
four new Dog Pearls.
* Create more New Pearls: the next
likely ones, besides more about dogs,
are listed on Upcoming Pearls and cover
many touching, inspiring subjects.
If Dog Pearls do not speak to you, we are dreaming Cat, Horse, Honeybee,
Whale, Walrus and
Parrot Pearls, too.
We also plan Pearls about nature,
inclusive spirituality and the power of love when violence escalates, all of which are relevant in our rapidly changing, unpredictable world.
Although we received an award
from the Twin Rivers Media Festival
in 2008 for the
8-minute version of Wild and Free:
a Screech Owl Named Pinkey, we need
to add audio narration to make it work for children. That will, of course, cost money.
Help Little Pearls transform the world!

In challenging times, people often reduce their giving. Bring more compassion into your
life instead: give to support real needs, and if you can, give also for love, inspiration and hope.
Little Pearls open the minds of viewers by first opening our hearts to the power of real connection and compassionate action, transforming our own lives and our world for the better. Let's make it so!
HAPPY TAILS to YOU!
